Max will be 16 months tomorrow......
His first birthday wasn't as fun as I was hoping.. he ended up getting Croup. I had a little party planned for the evening but in the morning we went to the doctor and he suggested we veto the party and gave us some meds, because Max was pretty contagious.
So... no party and no cake that night. His grandparents did stop by for a little bit to sing and give him some gifts. He loved that. (though thinking back we probably should have just done a cake too) sad... We figured we would just reschedule the party for when he got better but things got so busy we didn't end up having a party.. One day (a month or two later) =( we were out and about and saw this cake and a candle. So we got it.... He loved it! He loved blowing out the candle, us singing to him, digging into the cake, loved it all. It was fun. Made me sad we didn't celebrate better on his birthday... sigh. Next year.

You will have to have a big party when he turns 2! Its ok that you didn't go all out for his first one. If he was sick I am sure he wouldn't have enjoyed it. dont be hard on yourself your a great mom!
Sad that he was sick on his birthday! He looks so happy with that cake, it's so adorable. He'll have plenty more birthdays to celebrate and party at...like next year :)
