Children typically begin to erupt a tooth between the 6th and 8th month of life. Signs of teething are: drooling, irritability, gum swelling and sensitivity, sleeping problems, refusing food, the urge to bite on hard objects and possibly a low grade fever. (ALL OF THE ABOVE?)The discomfort that results from teething is due to the pressure exerted on the tissue in the mouth, called the periodontal membrane, as the teeth erupt. (SOUNDS PAINFUL!!)
I dont like it...
Its been a rough week for Max.. he's getting some molars and he is NOT happy about it. I thought he had an ear infection or was sick because he has just not been himself lately and has had a fever...so I took him to the doctor and there was nothing to be found but his molars budding through the gums. I feel so bad for him and I hate seeing him in so much pain. For all you mothers out there who say you didn't even know your kids were teething... u are LUCky!! Anyone out there have any teething tips? Children's tylenol doesn't seem to be helping!!

I found all natural teething tablets at Walmart that worked really well on Jax. When those didn't seem to work I would use baby Orajel... Good luck!
Oh that is the worst!! Jack had a really rough time when his molars came in too, and the more I thought about it, the more it made sense haha. Can you imagine how that would feel? Crazy. Anyway, we just tried to give him children's tylenol and I also tried some baby orajel, but I think we kind of just had to bear through it. Hopefully the pain doesn't stay too long! Poor little Max. And you guys too, it's rough to see them in pain.
Just send him here for a few weeks.
Well I am not a mother but I have watched kids that were teething. Popsicles are the best or putting teething rings or toys in the freezer. I dont know if he is to young for ambsol? That is a medicine you rub on their gums. I am sorry you are going through that. No fun! Take care love ya
Thanks i'm going to go get those teething tablets. I have a hard time giving him orajel because he wont open his mouth!!!
Thanks for the advise everyone!!! xoxo
Hey anna. I think my Max is getting his too and I found this cool food net thing by Munchkin at Wal Mart for like 3 bucks and I keep apples or pears in the fidge so they are cold and then I cut them up and put them in the net thing and Max will just chew and chew on it. It's nice cause the net keeps him from getting huge chinks and choking! It's been working GREAT. It's just in the section by like sippy cups and and spoons and stuff for kids!
